Job Description:
The High School Academic Counselor should have comprehensive expertise in the following areas:

School Counseling Curriculum
Academic Advising
College Counseling
Student Management
Alumni Relations
PowerSchool System

Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in related field from a recognized university
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Certification/qualification/degree in Academic or College Counseling preferred
A US state-level teaching certification in Middle or High School education preferred

Responsibilities:
Proficient in developing, implementing, and enhancing programs geared toward enhancing students’ executive functioning and academic skills.
Capable of guiding students through the admissions process for colleges and training programs, as well s preparing them for graduation.
Possesses extensive knowledge in career preparation to advise students on various college placement options.
Skilled in providing comprehensive counseling services for Middle and High school students, covering academic, social, emotional, college, and career aspects.
Acts as an advocate and liaison for students when communicating with faculty, administration, and parents.
Designs, delivers, evaluates, and refines counseling curriculum tailored to students’ developmental needs, encompassing academic success, social/emotional well-being, college planning, and career exploration.
Collaborates with the Learning Support Coordinator to develop and execute academic intervention initiatives.
Leads Alumni Relations initiatives, fostering student engagement and overseeing Mentorship Programs.
Manage student schedules, transcripts, grades, College Board records, and service hours on PowerSchool.
Review academic records or prospective students to assess eligibility for grade-level admission.
Support Principal in policy development and accreditation process.
