Purpose/Job Summary :
This position will assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of NorthStar Academy’s
main technical components including, but not limited to, our Student Information System
(SIS) Genius, our Learning Management System (LMS), Buzz, Microsoft Office 365,
and Website. This person will work under the management of the Information
Technology Administrator.

Information Technology Administrator

General Responsibilities:

  • To live a life reflective of Christian principles and practices in and out of the work environment
  • Safeguard the interests of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS) and NorthStar Academy and its mission/vision
  • Be responsible to carry out those items at the school level that are distinctive of NICS schools as presented in the NICS Missions Manual, and NorthStar Academy policies and procedures manual
  • Comply to all Network of International Christian Schools policies and NorthStar policies and procedures

Technical Systems Support Duties:

  • Field incoming help-requests from end users via both telephone, chats, and emails in a courteous manner with great attention to excellent customer service
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from end users
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests as needed
  • Perform assistive functions within the all systems
  • Assist in the design development and information maintenance of the NSA website and podcast websites
  • Assist in Troubleshooting and maintaining Office 365 and Azure platform
  • Maintain and develop powershell scripts for onboarding process and reports as needed
  • Assist in the development of database queries as needed
  • Be knowledgeable of IT best practices through research, training resources, and regular implementation
  • Complete appropriate on the job training as required


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years work experience in related field
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, JS, Powershell, and web design (Preferred)
  • Experience working with Office 365 and Azure (Preferred)
  • Experience with SEO strategies (Preferred)
  • Experience with Photo/Video Editing Software (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Works efficiently in an independent, remote environment
