NorthStar Academy (NSA) is an online private Christian school that currently offers students in grades 4-12 a complete academic and diploma-granting program.

Job Summary

The course developer will serve as a subject-matter expert helping to create and design course material, material that may include: high-quality copy, assessments (formative and summative), and audio and video scripts for customized delivery in our LMS. All instructional content created must align to NSA's instructional design guidelines and biblical worldview. Effective communication with teachers and school leaders is essential as course developers must demonstrate a passion for building and designing discipleship pathways between our students and teachers within each course.

The NorthStar Academy work environment requires flexibility, self-direction, creativity, and strong communication skills. Course developers at NSA work independently and efficiently to manage projects in conjunction with their assigned author coach.

General Responsibilities

Develop an online AP Music Theory two-semester course

Grades Course Will Be Designed for

High School

Qualifications

Current state or provincial issued teacher certification 

Minimum of 2 years teaching/admin/business experience 

Minimum of an undergraduate degree 

College Board training in AP Music Theory

Specific Skills

Instructional design and educational technology experience is required, as is a thorough knowledge of the College Board course guide for AP Music Theory.

Additional Information

This position will begin in February 2022. The developer will go through NSA's Course Author Course (8 weeks) and then develop the class over the 22-23 year. Pay for the position is $5500.
