Director of Curriculum Job Description
The goal of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction is to improve instruction in the classroom ensuring that teachers are teaching to standards and have the best resources to do that. This will ultimately benefit all students and help them reach their full potential - spiritually, emotionally, physically, and academically. As the Director of Curriculum and Instruction you will:
Demonstrate, teach and support best instructional practices.
Use a collaborative approach to improve all aspects of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional culture through a strong Biblical foundation.
Be a part of the Field Leadership Team (FLT) and bring current, proven educational research and high quality instructional practices to WNS.
Lead the Curriculum Review Process and work collaboratively to vertically align our curriculum.
Ensure that WNS is using resources effectively through overseeing curriculum orders and curriculum inventories.
Design and lead PD in collaboration with the FLT and lead teachers
Monitor teacher effectiveness in the implementation of best practices and research through regular walkthrough observations.
Assist teachers with Biblical Illumination through the curriculum in an authentic and genuine manner.
As the Director of Curriculum and Instruction you have the following skills and traits:
- Designer of learning for teachers and students
- Outstanding Presentation and Facilitating skills
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in various levels and subjects
Experience in a variety of roles (Curriculum, Lead Teacher, Admin, Accreditation Team)
Masters of Education preferred in Curriculum and Instruction
A genuine love for Jesus and commitment to growing in relationship with Him
