Please carefully read the following.

The Bible says " For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) 'All' means everyone ... you, me, and everyone else.

The first step in knowing for sure if you are going to heaven is to confess that you are a sinner.

The Bible also says that the payment for sin is death, "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23) Our just payment for sin is death but God does not desire that anyone should die. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

The second step is to call on the name of the Lord and to confess your sins. "Except you repent, ye shall...perish." (Luke 13:3) "For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." (Romans 3:33) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9)

The third step is to receive the gift that God has given us as payment for our sins, and that is to receive Jesus Christ. " For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8) "As many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on His name." (John 1:12)  This must be more then an intellectual acceptance; this belief is an embracing of the heart.

God will change your heart. "If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things pass away. Behold, all things become new." (II Corinthians 5:17) We can rest on God's promises that, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
